EstudyaNTREPRENEUR Experience

The "EstudyaNTREPRENEUR" event was a vibrant event and booth of ideas, passion, and skills, where students transformed their knowledge into action. With the theme "Harnessing young minds; turning passion into profit, education into innovation," the event was a testament to the power of learning beyond the classroom. It was like a garden where seeds of creativity and determination were planted, each booth showcasing the unique talents of young entrepreneurs. From cooking delicious dishes to offering relaxing hand and foot spa massages, the event reflected how education can be turned into something practical and profitable.

Walking through the booths felt like exploring a treasure chest filled with hidden gems of skills and innovation. Students and officers demonstrated their expertise in selling, electrical maintenance, and even vegetable gardening, proving that their hands and minds were capable of building a future full of possibilities. Each stall was a window into their hard work and dedication, reminding everyone that success starts with small, determined steps. The aroma of home-cooked meals, the meticulous hands offering spa services, and the buzz of tech-savvy minds solving computer problems all created an atmosphere of excitement and inspiration.

Visiting the "EstudyaNTREPRENEUR" event was an enjoyable experience. It was like a festival of skills, where every booth had a story to tell and a lesson to share. The energy and enthusiasm of the participants made the event even more engaging, proving that entrepreneurship is not just about profit but also about passion, perseverance, and creativity. This event was a perfect reminder that education is not just about memorizing facts; it’s about using knowledge to build, create, and innovate for a brighter future.

Marching with Pride

The 123rd High School Day celebration of Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS) was truly a memorable and exciting experience. The celebration started with a grand parade around the Vigan, where students from different grade levels proudly marched with their different props. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and pride of every student as they showcased their school spirit. The streets were filled with cheerful music and excited onlookers, making the event lively and festive.

One of the most anticipated parts of the celebration was the field demonstration, where students from each grade level, from Grade 7 to Grade 11, presented spectacular performances. Boys and girls alike took to the field to showcase the rich and diverse cultures of different countries such as Brazil, America, Mexico, the Philippines, and more. Each presentation was well-rehearsed and captivating, with colorful costumes and energetic dance moves that truly brought each culture to life. It was impressive to see how each group put in so much effort to deliver an outstanding performance, reflecting their creativity and teamwork.

The yearly celebration of the founding of ISNHS holds great significance as it reminds us of the school’s long and rich history of providing quality education to countless students throughout the years. It serves as a celebration of unity and pride for the whole school community while honoring the legacy of the institution. Through events like this, students and teachers alike are given the chance to strengthen bonds and create beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. It also fosters school spirit and highlights the importance of preserving our traditions and celebrating our achievements as one big family.

Personally, I felt a sense of pride being part of this celebration. Seeing my fellow students give their best in the field demonstration and witnessing the collective effort of everyone involved made me realize how much ISNHS values unity and cultural appreciation. The entire event left a lasting impact on me, as it showcased not only the talents and dedication of the students but also the enduring spirit of our beloved school. I am truly grateful to have experienced this remarkable occasion and look forward to more celebrations that honor the legacy of ISNHS.

Beyond FrontPage

During the fourth quarter, I learned how to create web pages using Microsoft FrontPage, a tool that follows the "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) approach. This made web design easier because I could see the final appearance of the page while editing. I discovered how to insert images, format text, and create hyperlinks without needing to write complex HTML code. These skills helped me understand the basics of web development and how websites are structured.

However, I encountered some challenges while using FrontPage. One of the main issues was formatting inconsistencies when switching between design and code views. Sometimes, the layout did not appear as expected when viewed in a browser. Additionally, I struggled with aligning elements properly and ensuring that my web page looked professional. These difficulties made me realize that web development requires patience and attention to detail.

To overcome these challenges, I took the time to explore different tools and settings within FrontPage. I practiced using tables and grids to organize content neatly. When I faced issues, I searched for tutorials and asked for help from my teacher and classmates. By experimenting with different techniques and learning from my mistakes, I improved my web design skills and became more confident in using the software.

Moving forward, I will continue to enhance my web development knowledge by exploring other website-building tools and learning basic HTML and CSS. I plan to practice creating more web pages and experimenting with different layouts to improve my design skills. By doing so, I hope to create more professional and visually appealing websites in the future.

Dream, Struggle, Succeed

Fifteen years from now, I see myself standing tall, not just as a person but as a successful nurse who has conquered every struggle that once made me question my path. I imagine myself in the country that I have always hoped for, walking through hospital corridors with a sense of fulfillment, knowing that I am finally living the life I once only dreamed of. The journey to get here was never easy. There were nights filled with tears, moments of self-doubt, and silent battles I fought alone. But despite all the hardships, I persevered. Every sacrifice I made, every ounce of strength I poured into my studies, has led me to this moment—where I can finally say, "I made it."

Looking back, I remember the endless nights spent studying, the exhaustion of handling responsibilities, and the times I felt like giving up. There were failures that shattered my confidence and moments when I thought I wasn’t good enough. But I held on to my dream, no matter how impossible it is. I knew that the pain of struggling today would be nothing compared to the joy of achieving my goals in the future. I reminded myself that setbacks were not signs of failure, but a lessons that would make me stronger. And now, standing in the very place I once wished for, I know that all those sleepless nights and moments of despair were worth it.

As I look around, I see the life I built for myself—the life I used to picture in my mind whenever I felt like giving up. I am working in a place where I can make difference, helping people and saving lives, just as I always wanted. I have embraced the challenges of my profession with confidence, knowing that every obstacle I faced only prepared me for this moment. My hard work has not only changed my life but has also given my family and the important people in life the pride and happiness they deserve. I finally repaid them for their sacrifices, for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

And now, as I stand here, with everything I have worked so hard for finally within my reach, I know one thing for sure, the younger Gerchelle is so proud of me. She is proud of the strength I found within myself, of the resilience that kept me going, and the dreams that I never let go of. Despite all the struggles, the silent tears, and the moments of doubt, I have become the person she always hoped for. And with a heart full of gratitude, I whisper to my past self, "You did it. You made it through, and now, you are exactly where you were meant to be, Gerchelle."

A Path To True Equality

Imagine a world where everyone shines like stars in the same sky—no one brighter, no one dimmer, just different colors blending into a masterpiece. Each star may have its own glow, yet together, they create a breathtaking nightscape that would not be the same if even one were missing. That is what gender equality and an inclusive society truly mean. Not making everyone the same, but ensuring that each person has the space to shine in their own way. It’s about giving everyone, no matter what their gender, background, or identity, they have the same chance to dream, grow, and succeed.

True equality means breaking free from the chains of outdated expectations, the kind that have weighed people down for generations. For too long, society has placed people into rigid boxes, telling boys to be tough and girls to be gentle, limiting what they can become. But the truth is, strength comes in many forms, and emotions are not tied to gender. Boys can be soft-hearted also and compassionate without being seen as weak, just as girls can be bold, ambitious, and fearless without being told they are too much. Beyond that, true equality means recognizing that gender is not a boundary that defines a person’s worth or abilities.

Society’s old, limiting beliefs are like a broken record, repeating the same worn-out messages that no longer fit the world we live in. It's time to change. When we challenge these outdated ideas and open our minds to new perspectives, we make room for a world where everyone is free to express themselves without fear of judgment. Inclusion is not just about allowing different voices to speak, it is about truly listening and understanding that each person has something valuable to offer. When we open doors for one another instead of building barriers, we create a world where kindness, respect, and fairness lead the way, lighting a path toward a future where everyone has the freedom to shine.

Change doesn’t always come in roaring waves. Sometimes, it starts as a single ripple, a kind word, an open mind, a helping hand. But when those ripples come together, they create a tide strong enough to reshape the world. Step by step, by listening, understanding, and lifting each other up, we turn walls into bridges and silence into a chorus of voices that make fairness. We are not just building a fair society, we are painting a world where everyone belongs, everyone shines, and no one is left behind.
